SaaS development: own it, or we pay for the build and you subscribe

You can work with us in two ways. In the classic one, you pay for the build and own the code. A first release typically costs $5,000-15,000 and takes 2-4 weeks. In the other, you tell us what your company needs and we pay for the build. We keep the code and the rights to it (the IP), and you pay a subscription or for what you use. It can carry your brand. Clients rate us 4.8 out of 5 on Clutch from 70 reviews.

Two ways to get your SaaS built

The first suits founders building a business on the product. The second suits companies that need a tool and would rather not pay for the build up front.

We build it, you own it

What you pay
A first release typically costs $5,000-15,000 and takes 2-4 weeks. After that, $39-55 an hour or a dedicated team at $6,000-9,000 per developer a month.
Who owns the code
You do: the code, the designs and the accounts.
Fits when
The SaaS is your business. You plan to sell it, raise money on it or grow a team around it.
Watch out for
You pay for the build before the product earns anything.

We fund it, you subscribe

What you pay
We pay for the build. You pay a subscription or for what you use, for example in credits, at a fee we agree case by case.
Who owns the code
Rocketech owns the code and the IP. You pay to use the product.
Fits when
Your company needs a tool for its own team or its clients, and would rather pay monthly than pay for a build.
Watch out for
You don't own the product, and moving off it later takes work. The trade-offs are below.

How a SaaS we fund works

This suits a company that needs software but doesn't want to spend on building it. A large one-time cost turns into a monthly bill.

You describe the problem

Tell us what the tool should do, who will use it and how they do the work today.

We agree the fee

A subscription, a fee per use or credits. We set it case by case before any work starts.

We pay for the build

Our team designs, builds and tests the product with our own money.

It can carry your brand

If you want, the product goes out under your name and logo, so your clients see your product.

You pay as you use it

You pay the agreed subscription or usage fee. The code and the IP stay with Rocketech.

What you give up when you don't own the SaaS

You save the cost of the build, but the deal has limits. Know them before you choose it.

The IP stays with us

Rocketech owns the code and the product. You can't sell it, raise money on it or hand it to another team.

Moving off it takes work

Once your team and your data depend on the tool, leaving means a new tool or a new build. Agree in writing how you get your data out and how much notice you get before a price change.

Buying it out later

If you want to own the product one day, we can discuss a buy-out.

When to own it instead

If the product is your core business, or investors will ask who owns the code, build it the classic way and own it from day one.

What goes into a SaaS first release

The first release does one main job well. Sign-up, payments and the admin panel come from ready-made modules, so the weeks go into the part that makes your product different.

Sign-up, teams and roles

Accounts for companies and their staff, with roles that decide who sees what.

Plans and billing

Free trials, monthly plans and card payments. IPOPBOOKS launched with all three.

The main workflow

The one job your customers pay for, built and tested first.

Admin panel

A back office where your team manages customers, plans and content.

Integrations

Links to the tools your customers already use. Zuzan works with Microsoft 365, and IPOPBOOKS pulls in bank data.
