Kosmo
Dating / Social · mobile app
Astrology dating app
It matches people by zodiac sign and translates chats with ChatGPT. 6K+ downloads in its first 2 weeks and 64% conversion on Google Play.
We build dating and marriage apps for iPhone and Android: profiles, matching, chat, safety tools, subscriptions and an admin panel. A first version typically costs $5,000-15,000 and takes 2-4 weeks, plus the time Apple and Google take to review it. We built Kosmo, an astrology dating app, and rebuilt HealthyNikah, a Muslim marriage app with 3,200+ members. Clients rate us 4.8 out of 5 on Clutch from 70 reviews.
The swipe screen is the easy part. Most of the work goes into who sees whom, how members stay safe and how the app gets paid.
Who shows up in whose feed: by distance, age, filters or a rule of your own. Kosmo matches people by zodiac sign. HealthyNikah keeps search and filters in the main feed.
Private and group chats with push notifications. Kosmo translates chats into the reader's language in real time with ChatGPT.
Report and block buttons, a filter for what people post and an 18+ age check. In the admin panel your team removes photos, reviews reports and blocks people who break the rules.
Paid plans, credits and boosts through Apple and Google in-app purchases, run through RevenueCat. Kosmo launched with three plans. HealthyNikah charges a credit for each match request.
Members decide what others see. HealthyNikah has a one-time blurred photo view, so pictures stay private. Members can delete their account inside the app, which Apple requires.
A back office for members, reports, plans and content, and analytics that show where people drop off before they pay.
People on a marriage app want to marry, not date, and the app has to follow their community's rules. HealthyNikah, which we rebuilt for Muslims in the UK, has all four of these.
Guardian consent is built into the app, as the community expects. The feature passed Apple review.
Women's profiles carry a family contact. We wrote the explanation members see in the app together with the client.
A one-time blurred photo view keeps pictures private.
A joining fee, a subscription and credits. Each match request costs a credit, and members can top up.
Apple treats dating as a crowded category. It rejected HealthyNikah's first build as one more dating app, even though the app is built for marriage. We removed the dating language, appealed and sent a new build, and Apple approved it on 29 May 2026. We check these rules before we send any dating app to review. Google Play asks for report and block tools too, plus a data safety form.
Apple takes a new dating app only if it offers a meaningfully different experience. The store page and screenshots have to show what makes yours different.
An app where people post content needs a filter, a way to report content, a way to block users and contact details anyone can find.
If people can create an account in the app, they must be able to delete it there too.
Plans, boosts and credits sold in the app go through Apple and Google billing. RevenueCat tracks them for both stores in one place.
If you offer Google or Facebook login, Apple also asks for an option that lets people keep their email private, such as Sign in with Apple.
An 18+ age check at sign-up and an age rating in the store that matches what members can see and do.
You see a demo at the end of every week and can change priorities as we go.
| Step | What we do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Rules | We agree who the app is for, how matching works, what is free, what is paid and what waits for later. | A written scope and designs of the main screens |
| Build | We build profiles, matching, chat and payments. Sign-up, payments and the admin panel come from ready-made modules. | An app you can test on your phone |
| Safety and store page | We add reporting, blocking, account deletion and the age check, and write a store page that shows what makes your app different. | A build ready for Apple and Google review |
| Review and launch | We send the app to review early and answer Apple if it pushes back. | Your app on the App Store and Google Play |
| After launch | We watch where people drop off and change the app based on what they do. Kosmo's conversion on Google Play went up after rounds of changes like these. | A list of what to build next |

Astrology dating app
It matches people by zodiac sign and translates chats with ChatGPT. 6K+ downloads in its first 2 weeks and 64% conversion on Google Play.
Social / Lifestyle · mobile app
Muslim marriage app for the UK
We rebuilt the old app in Flutter, moved 3,200+ members over with their profiles and credits, moved billing to RevenueCat and got the app approved after an appeal to Apple.
Social · mobile app
Creator social app
A self-funded founder needed an app to show investors. We built the mobile MVP in 2 months instead of the usual 5-6.
Social · mobile app
Book club social app
It started as a book review generator and became a social app after 9 design rounds. 1,000+ downloads in 2 weeks and #17 in the Russian App Store.
A first version costs $5,000-15,000. These six things decide where yours lands.
Distance and filters are quick to build. A score made from answers, star signs or behaviour takes longer to build and tune.
Text chat is standard. Group chats, voice, video and live translation each add work.
Report and block are required. Photo checks, ID checks and a workflow for your moderators cost more.
One subscription is simple. Several plans, credits, boosts, a joining fee and payments outside the stores each need setup and testing.
We build both from one Flutter codebase, as we did for Kosmo and HealthyNikah, so you don't pay for two separate apps.
Moving members, profiles and paid credits from an old app or spreadsheets is a job of its own. HealthyNikah moved 3,200+ members this way.
Our prices are public. A free estimate tells you which option fits your app.
| Option | What you pay | Fits when |
|---|---|---|
| First version (MVP) | $5,000-15,000, typically 2-4 weeks. The minimum project is $5,000. | You want to test the idea with real members |
| Time and materials | $39-55 an hour | The app is live and the plan changes as members use it |
| Dedicated team | $6,000-9,000 per developer a month. A team starts in 2-4 weeks. | You need developers on the app every month |
