MVP development cost and timelines in 2026: what 95 agencies publish

On 1 October 2026 we read the MVP pages of 95 software agencies and wrote down every price and timeline they publish. Each figure in our data comes with the sentence it was taken from, and you can download all of it.

The main numbers

$13,234
median starting price of an MVP, across the 71 agencies that show a price
57%
of the 95 agencies don't state their own price. 24 show no price at all, and 30 give only a general range.
$77,500
midpoint of the general MVP cost ranges agencies publish. Their own price tags sit at $23,159.
6-12 weeks
the median timeline agencies promise for their own MVPs (45 agencies)
$3,618
for a week of MVP work, from the 27 agencies that publish both their own price and timeline
4.8x
the starting price of an AI MVP against a regular MVP at the same agency (median of 15 agencies)

Where agencies' own MVP prices start

41 of the 95 agencies (43%) say what they charge themselves: a package, a "from" price, their own range or prices from their own projects. Their median starting price is $13,234, the same as across all 71 agencies that show any price. The middle half of those 71 start between $6,617 and $20,000.

Price tags vs cost guides

30 agencies publish only a general "an MVP costs $X to $Y" range and make no claim about their own fees. Those ranges start at about the same price as agencies' own price tags, then climb much higher.

How long agencies say it takes

The 45 agencies that state their own timeline promise 6 to 12 weeks at the median. General cost guides stretch it to 6 to 24 weeks. Divide each agency's own price by its own timeline, using the midpoint of each range, and a week of MVP work comes to about $3,618. That figure rests on the 27 agencies that publish both.

What the segments show

Region

Eastern European agencies don't undercut Western ones on published prices. Their median starting price ($30,000) is higher than the Western one ($19,851), and the midpoints are close ($56,250 and $55,000). Small Western studios that sell fixed $10,000 to $15,000 packages pull the Western floor down. The big gap is offshore, where agencies start at a median $7,250.

We also regrouped six agencies by where their site says the developers sit. Starting prices barely move (West $19,926, Eastern Europe $27,500, offshore $7,500). The Eastern European midpoint does drop, to $42,500 against $66,250 in the West. On either grouping, Eastern Europe's published floor is the higher one.

Price per week of MVP work, by head-office region

  • US, Canada, UK, W. Europe, Australia$7,084
  • Eastern Europe$4,167
  • Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Africa$2,273
Median of each agency's own price divided by its own timeline, using the midpoint of each range. 22 agencies: 8 in the West, 7 in Eastern Europe and 7 offshore. The five agencies with no stated head office are left out.

Agencies that state their own price. Five agencies that give no head office are left out. The midpoint and price-per-week columns rest on 7 to 9 agencies per region.

Fixed price vs the rest

20 of the 41 agencies with their own price sell at a fixed price or in fixed packages. They are cheaper and promise faster delivery, with a median start of $8,200, a median midpoint of $13,125 and an upper timeline of 8 weeks. The 18 agencies that state a price but no billing model start at $25,000, sit at a $61,250 midpoint and quote up to 13.5 weeks. Only three agencies describe their own pricing as hourly or monthly.

AI MVPs

16 of the 71 agencies with a price give AI work its own line, usually an "AI MVP" tier or an add-on for AI features. 15 of them also price a regular MVP. At the same agency, the cheapest AI MVP costs a median 4.8 times the cheapest regular MVP, with the middle half between 3.0 and 5.7 times. Two agencies go the other way. One sells AI MVPs at the same price as any other MVP, and another starts AI MVPs at $5,000 while its general MVP pricing starts at $15,000.

Cheapest MVP at the 15 agencies that price both

  • Regular MVP$8,900
  • AI MVP$40,000
Medians in US dollars. The 4.8 times figure is the median of each agency's own ratio, so it is not the same as one median divided by the other.

Who hides prices

Offshore agencies are the least likely to state their own price: 10 of 28, or 36%. The figure is 44% for Western agencies and 46% in Eastern Europe. Western agencies, though, are the most likely to show no figure at all (10 of 34).

The cheap and fast end

Five agencies sell an MVP for under $5,000 and six promise one in four weeks or less. That makes nine agencies in total, and eight of them sell at a fixed price. Only six agencies publish an hourly rate, from $20 to $100.

Agencies that contradict themselves

Six agencies give conflicting numbers on their own site. One MVP page quotes $30,000 to $80,000 and, further down, $25,000 to $40,000, while the same agency's homepage says $45,000 to $130,000. Another lists $35,000+ on its service page and $10,000 to $30,000 in its own cost guide. Two pairs of agencies publish the same cost table or article almost word for word.

Where Rocketech fits

Rocketech builds MVPs too. We publish $5,000-15,000 and 2-4 weeks for our own, and we kept those numbers out of every figure on this page. See what that price covers on our MVP development page, or get a free project estimate for your idea.

How we did it

The list came from four sources. First, the top results for "mvp development company", "mvp development services" and "mvp development cost" in a US web search index, checked in late September and early October 2026. We added more than ten nearby searches, including AI MVP cost and versions for the UK, India, Poland, Ukraine and Latin America. Second, agencies named in 16 "best MVP company" lists we had already collected. Third, MVP firms that appeared in search snippets of Clutch rankings. Clutch's own category pages answered automated requests with a bot check, so we left them alone. Fourth, the agencies in an earlier comparison on our own site.

That gave 100 agencies whose sites we could read. We dropped five. Two sites put up a bot check, and we did not try to get past it. Three turned out to be one-person or freelance shops. Ten more candidates had no working MVP page and were never counted, which leaves 95.

For each agency we opened the MVP service page, the pricing page if there was one, and the agency's own MVP cost article. We saved the visible text of each page. Every price, timeline and hourly rate in the dataset carries the sentence it came from, and a script checked all 230 quotes against the saved pages.

How we coded the claims

  • "Own price" means the agency says what it charges: a package, a "from" price, its own range, or prices from its own projects. "Market range" means a general estimate that makes no claim about the agency's own fees.
  • The low end is the cheapest figure the agency ties to an MVP. We left out tiers labelled prototype, proof of concept, discovery or no-code test, because the agencies themselves say those are not MVPs. Open-ended tops such as "$150,000+" count at the stated number.
  • Pounds and euros were converted at the ECB rates for 1 October 2026 (1 GBP = $1.3234, 1 EUR = $1.1298). A month counts as 4.345 weeks.
  • Region is the agency's head office: the first address on its site, or its public profile when the site lists none.

We report medians and the middle 50% (the interquartile range) because a handful of $300,000-plus ranges would drag an average up. Our own prices are left out of every figure.

Limitations

  • These are published claims. What an agency charges after scoping can differ, and a "from" price is the bottom of a quote.
  • The sample comes from search results and "best of" lists, so it leans toward agencies that invest in content. Small studios with fixed packages publish prices more often than large firms, which pulls the own-price figures down.
  • Sorting a claim into "own price" or "market range" takes judgment when an agency mixes "we" with general advice. The notes column in the CSV gives the reason for each call.
  • "MVP" covers very different products. A $1,450 one-workflow build and a $300,000 regulated platform are both in the data. Medians soften this but don't remove it.
  • Timelines are measured differently. Some cover the build only, others run from kickoff to launch.
  • A head office is not always where the work happens. Several agencies list a US registered address and don't say where their developers sit.
  • Subgroups are small (7 to 20 agencies), so read the regional and billing-model splits as a direction.
  • Prices change. One agency shows a "50% off" banner, and we used the discounted price. Two sites that blocked automated access (BuildMVPFast and Chop Dawg) are missing.
  • Search results came from a single US index (not Google) at one point in time.

The CSV has one row for each of the 95 agencies. It lists the page we read, the head office and region, every MVP price, timeline and hourly rate we found in the original currency and in US dollars, the sentence each figure came from, how we coded the claim and the date we read the page.
