GhostMinutes: AI meeting notes that reached $1,500 MRR

Book a discovery call

Description

GhostMinutes turns meetings, sales calls and lectures into text. Record on your iPhone or drop an audio or video file in the browser. You get a transcript with speaker names and timestamps, a short summary and a chat for questions about the meeting.

The founder, a serial startup builder, came to us with an idea and nothing built yet. We worked as a fractional tech co-founder and made all of it: the name, the brand, the design, the apps and the AI.

The challenge

The founder's plan was to put a paid product in front of users quickly and then find out which audience and price work. So the name, the brand and a live app all had to be ready within a few weeks. Transcription also had to stay cheap. Speech models need expensive GPUs, and a GPU that sits idle still costs money.

Project management

A small team worked only on GhostMinutes from February to April 2026. We moved in short steps, and each one ended with something live that people could use.

How the launch went:

  1. 2 weeks: from zero to the first iOS release on the App Store.
  2. 1 week: a web app on the same backend, to see how the product does in the browser.
  3. A couple of weeks: tests with the founder's marketing team on extra features and on how to charge.

To save time, the product launched on our own Apple developer account and our Stripe account. The founder didn't have to wait for new accounts to be set up.

The Rocketech team:

  • Product Lead (fractional tech co-founder)
  • UI/UX and Brand Designer
  • iOS Developer
  • Full-Stack Developer
  • ML Engineer

How the AI stays fast and cheap

Transcription runs on custom speech models that our ML experts tuned further for this product. The model tells speakers apart, adds timestamps and detects the language on its own.

The models run on H200-class GPUs and up. Those cost a lot per hour, so a GPU server starts only when a file comes in and shuts down when the job is done. The founder pays for GPU time only while audio is being processed.

Summaries, follow-ups and the chat run on a non-standard LLM setup we tuned for speed and price. Answers come back fast, and each one costs little.

Key features

GhostMinutes works on iPhone and in the browser with one account. Minutes and transcripts sync between the two.

Capture

  • Record: one tap on iPhone, and recording keeps going with the screen locked.
  • Upload: drop any audio or video file up to 1 GB in the browser. The first try needs no signup.
  • Offline on iPhone: transcribe without internet. The audio stays on the phone.

Privacy

  • Auto-delete: on the web, audio is wiped right after transcription.
  • Your delete button: transcripts are encrypted, and you can remove them any time.

Text and AI

  • Transcript: speaker labels and timestamps, in 95+ languages.
  • Summary: key points and next steps in seconds.
  • Chat: ask the AI for a follow-up email, a list of objections or anything else about the meeting.
  • Custom prompts: save your own requests as quick prompts and reuse them.
  • Export: SRT, VTT, PDF, DOCX or TXT.

Growth and pricing tests

After launch we tested more ideas with the founder's marketing team. Some added features, others tried different ways to charge. The live product now includes:
  • Landing pages per audience: sales teams, consultants and people who transcribe video.
  • A plan quiz: a few questions about how you record, then a suggested plan.
  • 4 plans: Free, Lite, Pro and Business, paid monthly or yearly.
  • Minute packs: from 50 to 10,000 minutes, paid once, and they never expire.

Real results from real customers

I was impressed by ROCKETECH's ease of communication and turnaround time. I was assigned a dedicated team that worked only on my project, so it was easy to keep track of deliverables and understand the pace of the project.

Results

GhostMinutes reached $1,500 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
The iOS app reached the App Store 2 weeks after we started. The web app followed a week later.
One team made all of it from scratch: the name, brand, illustrations, app and landing design, backend and AI.
GPU servers switch on for each file and off after it, which keeps the cost of every transcribed minute down.
After launch we tested features and pricing with the founder's marketing team.
The launch ran on our Apple developer and Stripe accounts, so the founder didn't wait for their own.

EasySpk

AI / Productivity · mobile app

EasySpk is an iPhone keyboard that turns speech into clean, ready-to-send text in any app. We came up with the name, designed the brand, the app and the landing page, built the AI part and shipped the first release in 2 weeks. It got 1,000+ downloads in its first days.

IPOPBOOKS

FinTech / AI · web app

IPOPBOOKS does the books for small US businesses: AI sorts every bank transaction and a bookkeeper checks it. We built the client portal, the bookkeeper workspace, the admin panel and the website, and launched in 10 weeks, ready to take payments.

HealthyNikah

Social / Lifestyle · mobile app

HealthyNikah helps Muslims in the UK find a husband or wife, with family involved and photos kept private. We rewrote the old app in Flutter, rebuilt billing, moved 3,200+ members over and took the app through Apple review to a relaunch on iOS and Android.

Traza

Marketplace / Lifestyle · mobile app

Traza is an Australian marketplace for tattoo artists. Its team had the web product, the API and the designs, but no mobile developers. Our React Native team built the artist app on top of what they had and got it approved on the App Store and Google Play. It went live in early 2026.

Koncierge

FinTech · web app

Koncierge connects a payment provider, FX brokers and licensed local agents in Japan through one API, a portal for each role and an embeddable checkout widget. We modeled the data, built the payment matching engine and the portals, and took it live.

Volumetryx

HealthTech · web app

Volumetryx links drug companies, hospitals and scan readers in cancer trials. We built a clickable demo of its platform: trial setup, uploads of large scan files, a browser scan viewer and progress dashboards. The two hardest technical questions were answered before the main build.

Subflare

AI / MarTech · web app

Subflare shows B2B teams what a visitor did on their website before filling in a form, and how ready they are to buy. We tested the risky AI part in 2 weeks, then built the tracking script, AI scoring, dashboards and admin panel.

Daisy's Guide

Lifestyle · web app

Daisy's Guide helps couples settle the big questions before their first child arrives. The founders had a printed guide that sold well. We turned it into a web app for couples, with partner accounts, a one-time purchase, all 41 prompts and shared notes.
