EasySpk: the launch decision

Problem and constraints

The client wanted an AI voice keyboard on the App Store fast. There was no name, brand or code yet, and new Apple and Stripe accounts take time to approve.

Chosen response

We joined as a fractional tech co-founder, shipped the first release in 2 weeks on our own Apple developer and Stripe accounts, then moved to 1-week sprints.

Delivered capability

The name, brand and illustrations, the app and landing page design, the iPhone keyboard and a fast, low-cost LLM setup.

Outcome in context

EasySpk got 1,000+ downloads in its first days, and processing time fell from up to 3 s to up to 1 s. These numbers describe this project, not a promise for another product.

Your next decision

Decide what the first release must do, what can wait for weekly sprints and whose store and payment accounts you launch on.

Description

EasySpk is a voice keyboard for iPhone. You tap the mic, talk the way you normally do, and it types clean, ready-to-send text in any app: iMessage, WhatsApp, Gmail, Slack and others. It drops filler words, fixes grammar and punctuation, and can rewrite or translate text on a voice command.

The challenge

The client came to us with the idea for a voice keyboard. The name, brand, design and code didn't exist yet. Speed was the core of the product: people use a voice keyboard to save time, so the AI had to answer fast, cost little per request and still write well.
The client's own Apple developer and Stripe accounts also still needed approval, and waiting for it would have pushed the launch back.

Project management

We worked as the client's fractional tech co-founder and covered the whole path from naming to the App Store release.

The first release took 2 weeks. After that we switched to 1-week sprints: polishing screens, reworking and speeding up flows, adding features and testing new growth ideas.

Name, brand and design

We picked the name EasySpk, drew the logo and the illustrations, and chose the fonts and colors: cream and black, with warm orange for accents.
The app and the landing page use the same style. The landing page shows the keyboard in an animated demo, lists the features and plans, and sends people to the App Store.

Key features

EasySpk works as the iPhone keyboard in any app. The user taps the mic, speaks and gets clean text right in the message field.

Speech to clean text

  • No filler words: "um", "uh", "like" and repeated words are removed.
  • Grammar and punctuation: fixed on the fly, with commas and periods placed by pauses and tone.
  • Numbers and dates: spoken numbers turn into digits.

Voice commands

  • Commands inside dictation: "reply formally", "make it shorter" or "translate to Spanish".
  • Clipboard: copy any text, tap the clipboard button and say what to do with it, for example translate, rewrite or summarize.
  • Translation: speak in one language and send the text in another.

Personal settings

  • Snippets: a trigger word inserts an address, a signature or a link.
  • Rules: standing instructions the AI always follows, like "keep replies under 3 sentences".
  • Styles: the user's own tone, casual or formal, so messages sound like them.
  • Knowledge base: names, projects and company details the AI keeps in mind.

Plans

  • Free and Pro: 5 free requests a day and a 14-day Pro trial, then a monthly or yearly subscription.

A fast and cheap AI setup

We picked the LLM setup for response time and cost per request. It's a non-standard setup that generates text at a very high rate of tokens per second and keeps each request cheap.
At the start, processing took up to 3 seconds. Now it takes up to 1 second, and a plain transcription comes back in about half a second. The client keeps the stack private, so we don't name the models or vendors.

GhostMinutes

AI / Productivity · web and mobile app

GhostMinutes turns meetings and calls into text and AI summaries. We built it from scratch for a serial founder: the name, the brand, an iOS app in 2 weeks, a web app 1 week later and the speech AI behind both. The product reached $1,500 MRR.

IPOPBOOKS

FinTech / AI · web app

IPOPBOOKS does the books for small US businesses: AI sorts every bank transaction and a bookkeeper checks it. We built the client portal, the bookkeeper workspace, the admin panel and the website, and launched in 10 weeks, ready to take payments.

HealthyNikah

Social / Lifestyle · mobile app

HealthyNikah helps Muslims in the UK find a husband or wife, with family involved and photos kept private. We rewrote the old app in Flutter, rebuilt billing, moved 3,200+ members over and took the app through Apple review to a relaunch on iOS and Android.

Traza

Marketplace / Lifestyle · mobile app

Traza is an Australian marketplace for tattoo artists. Its team had the web product, the API and the designs, but no mobile developers. Our React Native team built the artist app on top of what they had and got it approved on the App Store and Google Play. It went live in early 2026.

Koncierge

FinTech · web app

Koncierge connects a payment provider, FX brokers and licensed local agents in Japan through one API, a portal for each role and an embeddable checkout widget. We modeled the data, built the payment matching engine and the portals, and took it live.

Volumetryx

HealthTech · web app

Volumetryx links drug companies, hospitals and scan readers in cancer trials. We built a clickable demo of its platform: trial setup, uploads of large scan files, a browser scan viewer and progress dashboards. The two hardest technical questions were answered before the main build.

Subflare

AI / MarTech · web app

Subflare shows B2B teams what a visitor did on their website before filling in a form, and how ready they are to buy. We tested the risky AI part in 2 weeks, then built the tracking script, AI scoring, dashboards and admin panel.

Daisy's Guide

Lifestyle · web app

Daisy's Guide helps couples settle the big questions before their first child arrives. The founders had a printed guide that sold well. We turned it into a web app for couples, with partner accounts, a one-time purchase, all 41 prompts and shared notes.
